About my "Careless Driving" Ticket?
Q. The other night I was turning a corner when a cop pulls up behind me and pulls me over. When he walked up to the window, I already had all my information ready, and when he asked if I knew why I was being pulled over I told him I didn't, because I was honestly clueless. Long story short, he tells me he's been following me, taking my speed and I was going about ten miles over the speed limit. Okay, so speeding ticket, right? Nope He sends me a ticket in the mail today for "Careless driving" Can someone please tell me why I got this instead of a speeding ticket? Thanks guys

Can I be admitted to the SAT if the ticket does not list my middle initials?
Q. When I registered for the SAT, the "middle initial" space only allowed entering a single letter. Unfortunately, I am cursed with a double middle name, and my ID lists me as such. I figured it would be more accurate to leave the initials out entirely, but the tips on website insist that my ID should match the name on the admission ticket "exactly". Should I call their support line to get my information changed to have the two middle initials added, or is this not a problem?

A. since they have this cheating crap going on, it would be best to get this work out before you go take a test...

is it normal that i still have the highway toll ticket?
Q. I entered the "no ticket lane" that gave me a ticket as expected. But then I never had to give that ticket in order to pay and I am pretty sure I didn't pass by an EZ pass lane/section afterwards. I just took an exit and arrived in the city. So now I'm wondering if it's normal or no that I still have that highway ticket with me,,, I entered the "ticket lane" sorry***

What's the difference between "opera", "operetta", and "musical"? What determines which category a work falls?
Q. It seems like "operetta" tends to describe the lighter classical singing productions with a strong Austro-Hungarian flavor, whereas operas tend to be French/Italian pieces. It can't be the subject matter since there are comic operas which may be similar to operettas. So what exactly is the difference?

A. Great question! I used to wonder about it all the time. I always had the gist of it. (Opera is a big dramatic work of music, operetta is shorter, and musical has a lot of talking.) But here is the actual stuff: 1) Opera - is the dramatic work everyone thinks of. It has can have multiple acts, and is, of course, set to music for singers and instrumentalists. You're right that operas can be comic, but they are usually longer. 2) Operetta - a SHORT opera, usually on a light or humorous theme and typically having spoken dialogue. (Notable composers of operettas include Offenbach, Johann Strauss, Lehar, and Gilbert and Sullivan.) By the way, just for your information, the "-etta" at the end of an Italian word is a diminutive of that… [cont.]

Are there federal guidelines to how close a "no parking" sign has to be?
Q. I recently got a ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street, problem is the signs that told me I couldn't park there were way down on the street in front of and behind me. There were only two signs on that very long block and nowhere near my car. Across the same street there were four no parking signs. I believe I shouldn't have to walk 1000 feet to read a no parking sign, if you legally had to do that then they wouldn't waste the time and money putting up all those signs. If anyone has any info that would be great, I don't know if there are local, state, or federal laws regarding this. well here in NJ, for street cleaning rules, they usually put a sign up about every 100 ft, "no parking this side, tues. 9-12" for example, [cont.]

reserving an airline ticket without purchasing it? Visa purposes?
Q. Hey guys- I am trying to apply for a visa in France and I was checking out the visa checklist today and I am a little confused at what this means, "You must reserve your airline ticket but do not purchase until the visa has been approved. The presentation of that airline reservation will be required before issuance of the visa." Do you have any idea what this means?

question about the "zero point unsafe driving" plea bargain?
Q. I was wondering if it was a moving violation. I mean aren't moving violations only ones that carry points. I heard in some cases the "unsafe driving" was pretty much like a parking ticket, but with a name like "unsafe driving" it seems like it'd still be a moving violation. please someone who actually knows what they are talking about help me out

Why do people find having your last name tattooed on you is tacky, or makes you look like a "douchebag?"?
Q. I think it's a cool representation of who you are, and where you come from. People sound really ignorant when they say "What, are you scared you're going to forget what your name is." Just wondering others opinions on this.

What is the answer to the riddle of this "Acceptance" poem?
Q. Incipient amalgams of the word, beneath my dignity to answer. Go then, believer of tossed-away trash, following the garbage here on this site. I made my peace with "Vivace". Where's yours? I condemned "Caligula". Who have you? Cry with rejection by America. Be at peace with acceptance by Europe. Ask yourself one, little question: Is America that stuffy? Or, having nothing worth printing, (they think) prints nothing worth reading.

Stub Hub ticket with someone else's name on it?
Q. I just purchased tickets to an NBA Playoff game (Indiana Pacers-Miami Heat game 4 in Indianapolis) on Stub Hub.com...It was an instant download ticket purchase and as soon as i printed them off I saw that it says "Issued to (Persons name)" I know Stub Hub claims this is normal, but just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them? Im not worried I would just like some reassurance. Since these tickets were issued before the Heat officially advanced, the ticket simply says Round 2, Home game 2 Indiana Pacers vs Opponent TBD. The tickets seem to be thru ticketmaster. Thanks!

Upstate New York Speeding ticket?
Q. So I got a speeding ticket on route 17 up by Monticello last night. Most stupid thing ever, I was on my way with my wife and saw a grey car (just like mine) flying by in the outer lane. Of course I did the misstake of thinking I could follow him to save travel time (wifie needed to find a reststop as well ;), hoping that any cop would take him not me. Jokes on me, just when I have started to follow him a State Trooper showed up behind me and pulled me over. I assumed route 17 was 65mph all the way, turns out the area I was pulled over was 55pmh. The ticket is for 31mph. Feel so stupid, this is my first ticket but the Trooper told me not to plead guilty and come up and work with the town? So what does this mean, what can be my argument for… [cont.]
